Area Tours

Our last tour in June 2008 to the Peak district was a great success (see pictures on News page)

The next area tour will be to Sicily in May 2011, following on from Elizabeth Gordon's study day.

This tour has been drawn up in conjunction with Elizabeth Gordon to compliment her Study Day in November (see Study Day page) and will be led by a member of the Area Team. The tour will also be open to people who are unable to attend the Study Day.

Cost per person is expected to be about £1,380, with a single supplement of £135 (subject to availability). The cost includes travel, full board accommodation in quality hotels in Palermo, Agrigento and Catania, all entrance fees and the services of an English speaking guide.

Travel: Coach from Penzance to Gatwick and back with suitable pick-up points en-route. Direct flights from Gatwick to Sicily and back.
Also, travel by coach in Sicily.

The itinerary is being planned to include Palermo Cathedral and Palatine Chapel, Monreale Cathedral and Cloisters, Cefalu Cathedral, Segesta's Temple and Theatre, the Valley of the Temples, the Villa Casales Roman Mosaics, Taormina Theatre, Messina Cathedral, Reggio Calabria for the Riace Bronzes and the Syracuse Neapolis Archaelogical Site, Old Town, Apollo Temple, Cathedral and Spring of Arethusa.
