"In memoriam—Music to Die For" ...with Peter Medhurst.

This lecture will explore the wealth of music composers have written, with some of their finest artistic expressions, for the dead. Through digital images, CDs and film, and with examples sung and played at the piano by Peter Medhust, the music of Mozart, Blow, Purcell and many others will be illustrated; Mr Medhurst will be joined for this study day by an additional singer and instrumentalist, for which we thank the Brian Foster Music Trust whose generosity has made this possible. Central to the day will be a ‘mini- concert’ In Memoriam--- Music to Die For.
